On a quilty field trip

Last Saturday I was a very lucky quilter, and had the opertunity to go on a quilty field trip with NBQL to Lapp-Elisa, a quiltshop in Sweden (approx. 2 hours drive from here). We were a total of 25 quilters on the bus (and one who drove her own car) - with members from NBQL, Røa and me, from Follo

The sun was shining when we set off, with an exeptionally happy driver (his wife's a quilter too).

I didn't take many pictures during our trip, but here's one showing the charming surroundings of the store.

And here's the threadcutter each of us got for visiting. It's small, comfortable and just adorable! (It's a ring, with small blades on each side to cut the thread while you're sewing.)

You might ask if I did any hopping? Oh, yes, perhaps a little too much.. But to my defence, I'd never visited Lapp-Elisa before - and who knows when I'll be visiting another quiltshop again? (These past couple of years haven't exactly been overflowing with in-person fabric shopping... and it's a completely different thing to shop in-person than online!) And I've got plans for some of my treasures - and some are currently without a plan, but I'm sure one will come to mind eventually. Perhaps. Hopefully.

In other news, I'm still (slowly) working my way through my list of started projects, while also trying to finish other projects I've started on (which are not considered UFO's yet). I've tried my hand on foundation paper piecing - which was considered scary and too difficult in my mind (luckily, I found I had the perfect beginner project waiting for my attention), and I've made my first drunkards path-blocks (which were also considered difficult and scary in my mind).

I think I should try these things that scare me a bit more. I just need to finish this dreaded thing called work first - and get some of the over-the-rainbow-thing called spare time first. (Haha..)
