1st Sunday of Advent

Dear mom,

Today is the first Sunday of Advent. The stars are hung and lit, the candles ready - the first one already shining brightly, symbolising hope and waiting. It is the darkest part of the year - which I suppose only makes us enjoy the light even more. Being the sun, stars, the glittering snow - or candles and decorations following this season.

This first Sunday of Advent comes with a small gift, one that I hope will bring excitement (and perhaps something more?) as we count down the days until Christmas.

And it's off!

The SSCS-parcel, that is.

It was delivered to the post office on Monday, and I believe Santa's elves have taken over by now. My fingers (and toes?) are crossed for a swift and safe delivery..

A sneak peak?

Couldn't help myself..

And now the waiting begins!

Instant Christmas feeling?

It doesn't take much, just a quarter of an inch or so, but the first snow has arrived!

I think today is a good day to take pictures of the SSCS-parcels.

Back to stitching!

Last year I bought a preprinted stitchery, complete with embrodery thread. Tonight I ironed on a thin fusible webbing on tje back and started to work on the design.

It's quite nice to be stitching again! Almost like meditation.. One stitch at a time.. Following the line..

Growing + rediscovering

Little A continues to grow - and today she's wearing a knitred vest thst I made for P for his first birthday.

It's a little long, but that's ok. Especially when the wearer is having a little cold (and getting teeth..).

There aren't that many clothes left from big brother, but there's knitting - and I can't wait for her to grow into them! (Not that she can't remain a baby for quite some time more too..)

I had a few good sewing days the other week - and then A decided to crawl out of our bed by her self.. Now she has to sleep in either her stroller (out walking) or in her crib - and she's not exactly liking the change. Like yesterday, when she slept for about 15 minutes between 07:13 and 19:30.. Luckily I'm only abinding away from completing this year's SSCS parcel, and there's still time until shipping day.

I'm excited and nervous about Monday - I'm going to do something I haven't done very often in the past ten years.. (No, not the dentist - went there in August and everything was thumbs up!) If everything works out well, we have a busy week ahead of us. And if not? Well, we still have a busy week ahead of us.

Happy weekend!
