In these times of social distancing and staying at home

It's been 6 weeks (or more?) since the last time I went to the office to work. The actual, real office, with coworkers. Since march 12th I've been working from home. Schools and kindergardens closed March 13th.

It hasn't been the best conditions for us adults to be working from home with a 5 year old and a 10 year old, but we've managed to do some things, and other things have been done a little later or the next day.

The school has been issuing work to be done every day, meaning that P has been working as well for a few hours every day - needing help every once in a while, so the parent that did not have meetings those mornings spent some hours assisting him.

The kindergarden sent a parcel to all the kids before Easter, giving A a little crafty time and fun. It hasn't been easy being her - or P - these weeks - getting told more than enough times that they'll have to wait and wait a little bit more.

But we've managed.

Last Tuesday A went back to kindergarden, a little bit different than before March 13th - but being able to see and play with her friends has been good.

Today the school started again for 1st to 4th grade. P will be returing home soon, and we're both anxious to hear how his first day back has been. He was really looking forward to seeing his friends again - and to be challenged by more complex school work again.

How long the two of us will be working from home I don't know. I just know that it will at least be this week, and most likely a while more. The government will issue a statement some time this week, and at least my office will adjust to the recommendations given by the government.

None of us have been ill. No members of our families have been ill. But there's been too long now since we've seen grandparents and great-grandparents. And we do not know how long it will be until we can see them again.

Hang in there. Remember to breathe. Enjoy the sun when it's shining and find comfort in the sound of rain when it falls.

This too shall pass.
